Simplio – e-Invoicing Integration for Spain (SIGN ES)
To comply with the Spanish digital invoicing requirements, Simplio has developed a direct integration with the SIGN ES system, in partnership with Fiskaly, a certified Qualified Electronic Service Provider in Spain. This guide explains how the integration works, what you need to do (spoiler: not much!), and what happens behind the scenes.
Why This Integration Matters
The Spanish government requires businesses to digitally report invoice data in real time through a centralized system (SIGN ES). To make this process easy and seamless, Simplio handles everything on your behalf.
No technical setup or manual reporting is needed from your side.
How Simplio’s Fiskaly Integration Works
- You create an order in Shopify
Just like always, an order is placed in your store. - Simplio automatically generates the invoice
Based on your invoice template and store rules, Simplio prepares the invoice. - The invoice is digitally signed & registered
Simplio securely transmits the invoice data to the Spanish government’s SIGN ES system. Each invoice is digitally signed and gets an official timestamp (TBAI/Fakturae compatible where required). - Invoice is stored and accessible
The invoice is available to both you and your customer, in compliance with Spanish digital storage regulations.
What You Need to Do
To get started with the Fiskaly setup, simply send us the following company details:
- Country of origin
- VAT number
- Company ID (CIF/NIF)
- Tax number (issued by your tax office)
- WIDNR number
- Company address, including:
- Country
- Town / City
- State / Region
- ZIP / Postal code

🛠️ Technical Details (for the curious)
Under the hood, Simplio communicates directly with Fiskaly via secure APIs. All required metadata, timestamps, cryptographic signatures, and validation processes are automatically managed. You don’t need to worry about:
- JSON formats
- API tokens
- Signature certificates
- Error handling or retries
It’s all covered by our integration.
Final Notes
This integration is only relevant for merchants operating in Spain or issuing invoices to Spanish customers. If your store is not affected by SIGN ES regulations, this will not apply.
